Steve Burwell

Steve Burwell is a partner in Proskauer Rose LLP's Capital Markets Practice, specializing in corporate and securities law with over 20 years of experience in capital markets transactions. Prior to joining Proskauer in January 2021, Burwell was a partner at Foley Hoag LLP and served as Managing Director and Associate General Counsel at Deutsche Bank, where responsibilities included overseeing Corporate Finance and Global Capital Markets Legal in the Americas. Burwell also gained experience as an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, focusing on Capital Markets, Banking, and Mergers & Acquisitions. Earlier in his career, Burwell contributed to youth development through work at City Year. Burwell holds a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia Law School and a Bachelor’s degree in English from Amherst College.
