Heather Wanstall has a diverse work experience spanning over different organizations. Heather began their career at Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust in 1990, where they held various roles and specialized in artificial nutrition support in Intensive Care and Home Enteral Feeding. Heather played a significant role in establishing dietetic services for the Intensive Care Unit, the local hospice, the HIV clinic, and the home enteral feeding service. Heather also chaired the Trust's Nutrition Team and led the training of student dietitians within the Trust. From 2006 to 2013, they worked at London Metropolitan University as a Senior Lecturer in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. During their time there, they led the development of motivational interviewing training for students and contributed to updating the national Dietetics curriculum framework. Furthermore, they played a key role in the review and development of the academic curriculum and placements program for dietetics students in London. Currently, they are at Prostate Cancer UK, where they undertook roles as the Head of Clinical Services, Education, and Information. In this position, Heather managed the award-winning Specialist Nurse led Helpline, Information for Men service, and Education for Healthcare Professionals service, all aimed at supporting men and their families dealing with prostate cancer and benign prostate disease.
Heather Wanstall obtained a BSc in Human Nutrition and a PGDip in Dietetics from King's College London between 1984 and 1988. Heather further pursued their education at the University of Surrey, earning an MSc in Nutritional Medicine from 2003 to 2009.
