Hemanth Amarchinta

Hemanth Amarchinta, PhD, has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Currently, they serve as the Director and Head of Device Engineering at Protagonist Therapeutics since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Genentech from 2017 to 2022, where they held the position of Principal Engineer in Device and Packaging Development. Hemanth also worked as a Senior Engineer in Device and Packaging Development at Genentech and led the device team for projects related to Etrolizumab and Anti-Myostatin. Before Genentech, Hemanth worked at BD from 2010 to 2017 as an R&D Leader and a Senior Engineer in Self Administration Injection Systems. Additionally, they have research experience from their time at Wright State University, where they worked as a PhD Candidate and Research Assistant. Hemanth also served as a Graduate Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant during their tenure at the university. Hemanth's career began with an internship at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited.

Hemanth Amarchinta, PhD, began their educational journey at Osmania University, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2000 to 2004. Hemanth then pursued further studies at Wright State University, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2004 to 2007. Hemanth's passion for engineering and desire for advanced knowledge led him to complete their Doctorate of Philosophy in Engineering at Wright State University from 2006 to 2010.
