Alex Kolumbus has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Alex started their career as a Bank Examiner at the Indiana Department of Financial Institutions in 1985. Alex then worked as an Associate Counsel at Brown & James, P.C., specializing in insurance defense litigation. In 1994, they joined the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis as a Commissioned Examiner and later became a Legal Analyst in Payments System Strategies. In 1998, they joined Assurant Group as a Compliance Counsel and later served as Senior Counsel, Banking. Alex then worked at Springleaf Finance as an Assistant General Counsel, Assistant Secretary, handling legal matters for their consumer finance and mortgage operations, as well as providing in-house counsel for their insurance subsidiaries. In 2013, they became the Vice President, Legal at BCS Financial Corporation, providing legal advice and compliance support for insurance company management. From 2014 to 2017, they ran their own independent law practice, focusing on assisting insurance, GAP, service contract, and warranty companies with legal and compliance matters. Currently, they are working as the Vice President, Senior Counsel at Protective Asset Protection, collaborating with business operations on various products and contract drafting.

Alex Kolumbus earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University in 1984, with a double major in Finance and Economics. Later, Alex attended Washington University School of Law and obtained a Juris Doctor degree in 1991.
