Karim Helal began their career in 2000 as a WAP Analyst for T.I.W., where they surveyed available WAP applications and reported back to the board of directors. In 2001, they moved to Ericsson as a Project Manager. In 2007, they took over their father's 40-year-old family Architecture firm, Helal & Partners, and focused on Strategy, Operations & Business Development. In 2012, they began mentoring promising entrepreneurs during SeedStartup's program, and in 2014 they founded ProTenders.com, growing it from a 3-person startup to a company of 85, raising $7M in funding and making it the largest B2B Construction Platform in the Middle East. In 2015, they began mentoring at Flat6Labs Abu Dhabi, and in 2020 they began mentoring at Founder Institute. Karim Helal is currently a Member of C-Tech Club.
Karim Helal obtained their MBA from HEC Montr\u00e9al in 2006 in the fields of General Management, Entrepreneurship, and Strategy. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Polytechnique Montr\u00e9al between 1995 and 1999. In 2000, they also obtained an Advanced Open Water Diver certification from PADI.
