Leonardo Alvarez

Leonardo Alvarez has extensive experience in the field of protein engineering and biotechnology. Leonardo is the CEO and Founder of Protera Biosciences since 2018, where they focus on developing smarter proteins to address various challenges in food, agriculture, the environment, and human health. Prior to that, Leonardo founded and served as CEO of GEAenzymes in 2014, and Aminotec from 2013 to 2015. Leonardo also worked as a Researcher at the Bionanotechnology and Microbiology Lab from 2013 to 2015, and as an Intern at the Laboratory of Bacterial Molecular Genetics in 2012.

Leonardo Alvarez completed their Grado en Ingeniería in Biotecnología from Universidad Andres Bello, where they attended from 2011 to 2015. Additionally, they obtained a Business Creation Diploma from Universidad Nacional Andrés Bello in January 2018 and completed a certification in Neural Networks and Deep Learning from Coursera in August 2017.
