Mike Malecek

Mike Malecek has extensive work experience in the legal field. Mike currently holds the position of Chief Legal Officer at Prothena Corporation plc, a role they have held since June 2019. Prior to this, they worked as the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Intellectual Property & Litigation at Snowflake from November 2018 to June 2019. Mike also worked as a Partner at Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP from July 2010 to January 2018, and as a Partner at Dewey & LeBoeuf, LLP from June 2008 to July 2010. Before that, Mike served as the VP & Chief Advocacy Counsel at Affymetrix from September 2002 to June 2008. Mike started their career as an Assistant United States Attorney at the U.S. Attorney's Offices, Northern & Eastern Districts of California from October 1997 to August 2002. Mike also worked as an Associate at Latham & Watkins from September 1994 to September 1997, and as a Judicial Law Clerk at the United States District Court, Eastern District of Virginia from August 1993 to August 1994. Mike began their career as a Research Associate and Associate Editor at the Environmental Law Institute from September 1988 to June 1990.

Mike Malecek received their Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from Yale University in 1988. Prior to that, they attended St. Louis University High School, where they completed their high school education from 1980 to 1984. Later, Mike pursued a law degree and graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law with a J.D. in 1993. In addition to their B.A. degree from Yale University, Mike also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in an unspecified field of study from Yale University.
