Ryan Tooker

Ryan Tooker has a diverse work experience in various roles related to clinical science, medical writing, and research. Their most recent position is as an Associate Director of Clinical Science at Prothena Corporation plc since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Tolmar, where they held roles such as Senior Clinical Scientist, Clinical Scientist, and Senior Associate Clinical Trials Manager/Medical Writer II. In these positions, they provided technical and scientific guidance for clinical trials, supported regulatory interactions, and evaluated pipeline candidate products. Before joining Tolmar, Ryan worked as a Medical Writer at Aegis Creative, where they gathered and presented scientific and medical information for life science companies. Ryan also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Graduate Research Assistant at Colorado State University, focusing on retinal neurophysiology and neuronal communication. In addition, they have experience as a Freelance Editor at Crimson Interactive, where they proofread and copy-edited academic texts. Ryan also worked as a Certified Water Professional at the Ute Water Conservancy District and as a Research Assistant at Colorado Mesa University. Ryan has also served as an Official Statistician for the National Junior College World Series.

Ryan Tooker earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical Sciences: Neuroscience from Colorado State University, where they attended from 2010 to 2015. Prior to their doctoral studies, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, General from Colorado Mesa University, which they completed from 2005 to 2009. Additionally, Ryan Tooker obtained a Certificate in Graduate Teaching from The Institute for Learning and Teaching at Colorado State University in June 2015.
