Kamal Ahmed is a seasoned media professional serving as the Chief of the Media Reform Commission for the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh since November 2024, where responsibilities include leading efforts to transform the media landscape toward greater independence and objectivity. Previous roles include serving as a consultant for UN Radio, executive director at KAMP Productions Ltd, and holding senior producing and editorial positions at the BBC World Service, where strategic leadership and high standards were maintained in news production. Kamal's foundational career started at The Financial Express, where leadership in editorial processes established the publication as a premier business daily in Bangladesh. Academic qualifications include degrees in law and general history from the University of Dhaka and a certificate in the Belt and Road Initiative from Tsinghua University.
