Terexa O'Higgins

Terexa O'Higgins has extensive work experience in software engineering and consulting roles. In 2011, they worked as a Project Leader and Mid-Senior Ruby on Rails Developer for Aycron IT Solutions. From 2012 to 2014, they served as a Senior UI Engineer for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, contributing to a large distributed agile team. Terexa then joined Sage Ireland as a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer, supporting a worldwide payroll software project. In 2015, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer and Full Stack Developer for Sembly, focusing on developing an API and integrating testing and deployment processes. Terexa then joined Sonru in 2016 as a Senior Software Engineer. From 2017 to 2018, Terexa was a Senior Software Engineer at Web Summit, contributing to the development of IT solutions and mobile apps for various conferences and events. In 2019, they joined Harmoney as a Senior Software Engineer, working on the migration of a monolithic RoR app into microservices. Most recently, Terexa worked at Stuart as a Senior Platform Engineer, utilizing various technologies and collaborating with a large team of engineers. Currently, they are working as a Software Engineering Consultant.

Terexa O'Higgins has a strong educational background with degrees in Information Systems Engineering and Computer Systems Analysis from the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional. Terexa obtained an Honours Bachelor Degree (NFQ Level 8 Equivalent) in both fields, with the Computer Systems Analysis degree spanning from 2002 to 2006 and the Information Systems Engineering degree from 2006 to 2011.

Before pursuing degrees in technology, Terexa O'Higgins attended the Instituto Superior de Arte "Oscar Alberto Albertazzi" from 1987 to 1994, where they studied Bellas Artes, Art, and Painting. Terexa continued their artistic education at the same institution from 1990 to 1999, focusing on music.

In addition to their formal education, Terexa O'Higgins has also obtained several certifications. Notably, they completed courses in Bootstrap, Front-end Foundations, AngularJS, Sass, React, Angular.js, and Rails through Code School. Terexa also earned a Black Belt Certification (BB) from the INTERNATIONAL TAEKWON-DO FEDERATION in 2015.
