Awadhut Thube has worked in the field of robotics and automation since 2014. In 2016, they joined the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Complex and Nonlinear Dynamical Systems (CNDS) at VJTI as a Junior Engineer. In this role, they worked on the development of a 5 DoF mobile manipulator and performed odometry for the robot. Awadhut also successfully implemented the ROS Navigation Stack and used Haar Cascades to identify objects for manipulation. During their time at CNDS, they also served as an Intern where they analysed and tested different Blockchain Platforms for developing an end-to-end solution for Energy Trading in Microgrids. Awadhut also deployed an algorithm considering the concepts of Net-Metering and Time-of-Day, and tested with hardware implementation for two entities in the network. In 2014, they joined the Society of Robotics and Automation at VJTI as a Team Member and Joint General Secretary, where they dealt with robotics, machine vision, automation and all their allied fields. In 2020, they joined PROTOINNOVATIONS, LLC as a Summer Intern and led the development of a visual feedback system for the Rover Based Non-Prehensile Manipulation (RBNPM) project for controlled trenching behavior in granular media. Awadhut also computed various trench characteristics with less than 10% error using RGB-D camera, and developed an interface between the visual sensing subsystem and other rover modules using ROS. In 2021, they continued at PROTOINNOVATIONS, LLC as a Robotics Engineer.
Awadhut Thube earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) between 2014 and 2018. Awadhut then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Robotic Systems Development at Carnegie Mellon University, which they completed in 2021.
