Frontend Engineer at Proton

Brian Pirot has a diverse work experience beginning in 2007 as a Crime Scene Intern at the Philadelphia Police Department Crime Scene Unit. Brian then worked as a Teaching Assistant at Penn State Forensic Science Department in 2007. In 2008, they became a Forensic Biologist at the Denver Police Department Crime Lab, where they reviewed cold case homicide and sexual assault case files and testified as an expert in Forensic Biology. From 2010 to 2012, Brian served as a DNA Analyst at the Defense Forensic Science Center, maintaining a Secret security clearance and performing DNA analysis on captured enemy material. Brian then worked as a DNA Analyst I/II at Sorenson Forensics in 2013, reviewing the work of serologists and making technical decisions regarding the processing of casework samples. Following this, they became a Forensic Scientist II at the Denver Police Department Criminal Investigation Laboratory in 2014, where they contacted detectives and District Attorneys to determine testing needs and amplified, detected, and interpreted DNA profiles. In 2016, Brian joined Sorenson Forensics again, this time as a Field Validation Specialist, designing validation studies and generating validation data for various chemistries and instruments. From 2018 to 2021, they worked as an Associate Software Engineer at Sunquest Information Systems. Currently, Brian is employed as a Frontend Engineer at Proton, where they build and maintains the frontend of Proton.ai's CRM and product recommendation software using the Vue/Nuxt ecosystem.

Brian Pirot obtained a Bachelor's degree in Forensic Science and Technology from Penn State University, where they attended from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, they pursued studies in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Denver from 2004 to 2006, although they did not complete a degree in this field.
