Heather Wheatley has a diverse and extensive work background in horticulture and landscape design. Heather currently holds the position of Marketing Specialist - B2C at Proven Winners, LLC since May 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Certified Landscape Designer at the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD) starting from May 2022. From 2009 to the present, they have served as a CPH - 2018 BOARD MEMBER at MD Horticulture MNLGA.

Heather Wheatley also has experience in education and management roles. Heather was the ASM - Horticulture - Director of Education at Homestead Gardens, Inc. from February 2017 to May 2023, where they contributed to creating meaningful and beautiful gardening experiences for all age groups. Before that, they worked as a Plant Specialist at Longwood Gardens from October 2015 to February 2017, focusing on plant care and maintenance.

Heather Wheatley, CPH CBLP APLD, has a diverse education history in the field of horticulture and sustainable agriculture. In 1994, they attended the University of Maryland where they studied Marketing/Advertising, completing their education in 1998.

In 2008, they obtained the Certified Professional Horticulturist (CPH) certification from the Maryland Nursery Landscape and Greenhouse Association. Seeking further specialization, they attended Writtle University College from 2009 to 2011, earning a Trade Certification in Master Gardening from the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS).

Continuing their educational journey, from 2012 to 2014, they pursued an Applied Science (ASc) degree at the University of Maryland with a focus on Ornamental Horticulture and Sustainable Agricultural Business Management. During this time, they also obtained a Trade Certification in Advanced Propagation from Millersville University of Pennsylvania.

In 2014, they attended ESA, L'Ecole supérieure des agricultures, a Superior Agriculture University in France, where they earned a Trade Certification in Agroecology and Sustainable Agriculture.

To further enhance their skills and knowledge, Heather obtained several additional certifications throughout their career. In 2008, they achieved the CPH certification from the Maryland Nursery Landscape and Greenhouse Association. In 2010, they became a Master Soapmaker certified by the Guild of Craft Soap & Toiletry Makers.

More recently, they have obtained certifications such as Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional (CBLP) from the Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional Certification, Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional from the Anne Arundel Watershed Stewards Academy, and Landscape Designer from Longwood Gardens. Additionally, they hold the Certificate of DE Nursery Professional from the Delaware Nursery Landscape Association and the Sustainable Horticulturist certification from ESA - Groupe International - Superior Agriculture University in France.

Currently, Heather Wheatley is pursuing a Mastery of Plant Identification and Diagnostics at North Carolina State University, furthering their education in the field.
