Norm Peters

COO at Providence Health Care

Norm joins us from his previous Senior Executive Team role at Fraser Health as Vice President, Regional Care Integration. With over 19 years of experience in BC’s health care sector, at both Fraser and Island Health, Norm is a values-based leader with a very strong track record.

Prior to joining Fraser Health, Norm was the executive director for Surgical Services, Ambulatory Care, Long-term Care, Home Care Strategy and End-of-Life Care at Island Health with accountabilities for the full spectrum of surgical and ambulatory care services across multiple acute care sites. Since 2019, he has led the integration of acute and community services across Fraser Health, held leadership positions for primary and community care, Mental Health and Substance Use, Long Term Care and Assisted Living, Home Health/Home Care Strategy, and Access/Transitions Service.

In his position Norm is accountable for the effective operation of high-quality services across Providence’s acute, rehabilitation, community and provincial programs, and the Facilities Management team, including housekeeping/environmental services and food services once they are repatriated to us. Importantly, the role is also accountable for leading the transformation of services, and our new models of care, in readying for our move to the new St. Paul’s Hospital.
