Sophie Chan has extensive experience in the food services industry. Sophie began their career as a QA & Technical Information Manager at Multifoods International in 2004. Sophie then worked as a QA, Food Safety & Regulatory Affairs Manager at Gourmet Baker, Inc. from 2007 to 2011. Sophie later became the Senior Manager of QA, Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance at Gourmet Baker, Inc. from 2012 to 2014. Sophie then joined Business Initiatives & Support Services (BISS) for Lower Mainland Health Authorities in 2014 as a Support Services Manager until 2016. Sophie continued working with BISS but relocated to BC Children's & Women's Hospital, where they served as an Integrated Project Manager from 2016 to 2017. In 2017, they assumed the role of Regional Contract Manager at BISS for Lower Mainland Consolidated Health Authorities, overseeing commercial contracts for health services. Currently, Sophie serves as the Director of Patient & Retail Food Services at Providence Health Care, responsible for operations at various hospitals and residences.
Sophie Chan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science from The University of British Columbia. Sophie also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Leadership from City University of Seattle. Additionally, they have obtained the professional designations of CCMAP - Commercial and Contract Management Advanced Practitioner from the World Commerce & Contracting Association and CFS - Certified Food Scientist from the International Food Science Certification Commission.
