Bas de Boer

Bas de Boer currently serves as a strategic policy advisor supporting the team manager for Livability and Neighborhood Management at Gemeente Meppel since June 2025. Additionally, de Boer holds the position of policy advisor for Public Order and Safety at MRM Interim & Advies since November 2022. Since March 2019, de Boer has been a member of the Provincial States of Groningen and serves as the vice-fractievoorzitter for GroenLinks, overseeing portfolios including Public Transport, Spatial Planning, Digitalization, Internationalization, Democratization and Citizen Participation, as well as Public Order and Safety. Past roles include policy advisor for the Province of Fryslân, policy advisor for the public space at Gemeente Leeuwarden, and specialist in Strategy and Development at Veiligheidsregio Groningen. De Boer holds multiple degrees from the University of Groningen, including a Master of Laws in Administrative Law, a Master of Arts in International Security, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations. Further international experience includes an Erasmus Exchange Semester at the University of Warsaw.
