Thomas Horst attended Andress High School, graduating in 1990. Thomas then went on to study at The University of Texas at El Paso from 1990 to 1991, however, they did not complete a degree during this time. Later, they enrolled at Texas State University from 1992 to 1995, earning a B.B.A. degree in Marketing/Advertising. In 2011 and 2012, Thomas attended the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, where they studied Iranian/Persian Linguistics and Culture.
