Diego Bastos Silva

Diego Silva has a diverse work experience in the field of entomology and agriculture. Diego is currently working as a Technology application lead at Provivi, Inc., where they manage projects and leads a team of scientists. Diego'sresponsibilities include developing strategies for applying technology and digital tools to enhance pheromone application and data collection, establishing a network of experts, and coordinating field trials research. Prior to this role, Diego worked as a Research station manager at Provivi, Inc. Diego has also held the position of Associate scientist - Entomology at Provivi, Inc., where they conducted insect behavior experiments in both laboratory and field environments.

Before joining Provivi, Inc., Diego worked as a Professor at Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz" and as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Instituto Valenciano de Investigaciones Agrarias - ivia. Diego has also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Rutgers University and as a PhD Sandwich student at Wageningen UR (University & Research Centre).

Throughout their career, Diego has demonstrated expertise in the areas of entomology, insect behavior experiments, and pheromone application.

Diego Silva's education history starts with their undergraduate studies at Centro Universitário de Lavras from 2006 to 2009. There, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biology/ Biological Sciences - General. Following their undergraduate studies, Diego went on to pursue a PhD in Entomology at Universidade Federal de Lavras from 2012 to 2016. Finally, they are currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Project Management at MBA USP/Esalq, which began in 2021 and is expected to be completed in 2023.
