Maria Kaplan

Maria Kaplan, E.I.T. is an accomplished engineering manager at Prysmian Group, overseeing a multidiscipline team at the Claremont Fiber plant since July 2019. In this role, Maria coordinates continuous improvement initiatives, cost reduction strategies, and the commissioning of new equipment to enhance the quality of fiber optic products. Previously, Maria served as lead process engineer, managing key projects and teams to improve production yield in Prysmian's largest fiber drawing plant. Earlier experience includes engineering roles at WSP USA, focusing on remediation systems, and significant leadership positions in student organizations such as Omega Chi Epsilon and Engineers Without Borders USA, where Maria contributed to water disinfection research for communities in Sierra Leone. With a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland, Maria has a strong foundation in technical research and project execution, exemplified by a published paper during a research fellowship at the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
