David Montaner's work experience includes various roles in the field of data science and bioinformatics. David started their career in 2002 as a Research Assistant - Statistician at the University of Bristol. From 2005 to 2009, they worked as a Bioinformatician at the Spanish National Bioinformatics Institute (INB), where they developed software for the Functional Genomics Node.

In 2005, David joined CIPF as a Research Scientist - Bioinformatician, where they were the Head of the Biostatistics Unit at the Computational Genomics Department. During their time at CIPF, they created data products for genomic data analysis.

In 2010, David founded Genometra S.L., the first spin-off company created at CIPF. As the Founder and CEO, they focused on clinical diagnosis and machine learning.

From 2013 to 2015, David worked as an External Lecturer at the University of Valencia, teaching bioinformatics and statistical data analysis in the Computer Sciences Department.

In 2015, David joined Genomics England Ltd. as a Data Scientist, where they worked on the modelling of clinical data to unravel genetic causes of disease through hypothesis testing, data visualization, and class prediction.

From 2017 to 2018, David worked at Barclays as a Senior Data Scientist, utilizing machine learning for risk evaluation, customer segmentation, and product recommendation in a big data environment.

In 2018, David joined Insig AI Plc as the Chief Data Scientist. In this role, they focused on ESG analytics using Natural Language Processing and Neural Networks, as well as applying machine learning to portfolio management and financial analysis. David also developed data pipelines in Python and AWS infrastructure.

Most recently, David joined PS AI Labs in 2023 as a Data Scientist.

David Montaner has an extensive education history. David earned their Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in the years 1995-2001. Following that, they pursued a Master's Degree in Statistics with Applications in Medicine at the University of Southampton from 2001-2002. David continued their studies at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, earning a Master's Degree in Mathematical Statistics and Probability from 2002-2004. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioinformatics, Functional Genomics, and Machine Learning from the University of Valencia, completing the program from 2010-2013.
