Stéphane René

Stéphane René has extensive work experience in portfolio analytics, financial analysis, corporate finance, private investments, and financial risk management. Stéphane currently holds the position of Director, Portfolio Analytics & IS in the Infrastructure and Private Equity division at PSP Investments since August 2022. Prior to that, they worked at KPMG Canada as an Executive Director under contract, where they provided advisory services and consulting mandates to major pension funds and financial institutions. Stéphane also has previous experience at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) as a Director, where they conducted risk-return analysis, identified strategic risks, and managed investment portfolios. Before that, they served as Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer at Virocell Inc., responsible for financial strategy and functions until the company was acquired. Stéphane started their career at KPMG Canada as a Senior Manager in Corporate Finance.

Stéphane René has earned an MBA in Financial Management and Corporate Finance Strategies from Université Laval. Prior to that, they also obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Actuarial Sciences from the same institution. In terms of additional certifications, Stéphane has completed a Certificate in ESG Investing from the CFA Institute. Furthermore, they are an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) and has obtained the Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA) designation. Stéphane is also on track to become a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), although they have not specified the exact timeline for this achievement.
