James Velasquez

James Velasquez, LCSW, currently serves as the Clinical Director and Behavioral Health Consultant at the Psychiatric Wellness Center since January 2023. Previously, James held the position of Clinical Supervisor at Aspire Behavioral Health from November 2023 to March 2024 and spent over three years as Clinical Director at Brand New Day/Molina Healthcare. Additionally, James worked as a Supervising Therapist at Bakersfield Recovery Services and served as a Clinical Social Worker for the Alternative Custody Program at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Before these roles, James was the Behavioral Health Unit Supervisor for Assertive Community Treatment at Kern Behavioral Health and Recovery Services for a decade. James holds a Master of Social Work from California State University, Bakersfield, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the same institution, with further education from UC San Diego and Stanford University.
