Tamika Haynes-Robinson

Dr. Tamika Haynes-Robinson is a Neuropsychologist specializing in Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke and Epilepsy. She graduated with an undergraduate degree in Psychology in the first cohort of psychology majors from the University of the West Indies. She completed an accelerated MSc. in cognitive science (University of Birmingham, England) where she conducted research in movement disorders on behalf of NASA at the Human Movement and Balance unit in Queens Square, London. She returned to Jamaica in 1999 and advocated for the development of a PhD in Clinical Psychology. In 2006, she became the first graduate of the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at the University of the West Indies. She completed two post-doctoral fellowships in Neuropsychology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and at Yale University, Connecticut. She has presented on advances in Neuropsychology and rehabilitation at symposiums and lectures. Research includes cutting edge fMRI studies on executive functioning and resting state functional connectivity in temporal lobe epilepsy at the Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Haynes-Robinson is currently the only neuropsychologist in the Caribbean specializing in Epilepsy, intra-operative surgery language assessment and rehabilitation. She conducts neuropsychology clinics at Winchester Surgical and Medical Institute in Kingston and at Western Specialists in Montego Bay. Dr. Haynes-Robinson has a wealth of expertise and experience in the mental health systems across the Caribbean and is an internationally renowned expert witness in mental health in Canada, the USA and England. She is a founding member of Inscape Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free psychotherapy and art therapy to Kingston’s inner city youth.
