Simon W. Lawton

Simon was appointed as Chief Operating Officer - Mining in April 2021 and has responsibility for all aspects of mining sales, solution development and support for all mining customers. He also manages the mining dominated divisions of Tembagapura, Batu Hijau, Northern and Southern Kalimantan and is responsible for their operational excellence in supporting all customers within those divisions.

Simon spent the early part of his career with Trakindo in the operations, starting in the Tembagapura Division where he began as a General Operations Manager (GOM) before being elevated to the General Manager (GM) role. He then transferred to Kalimantan taking on the GM Kalimantan Mining role before heading the Kalimantan Support Centre. Simon then moved to the Head Office and initially worked in the Parts Supply Chain before taking on the GM Customer Support role.

Simon is a Certified Technician, holds a Diploma in Marketing and has a Business Administration Degree.
