Boonchai Boonyaratanakornkit is a seasoned professional in manufacturing science and technology with extensive experience in gene therapy and bioengineering. Currently serving as Director of Manufacturing Science & Technology at PTC Therapeutics, Inc., since August 2021, Boonchai has played a pivotal role in supporting programs for Friedrich’s Ataxia and AADC deficiency, contributing to the approval of the first gene therapy delivered directly to the brain. Previous roles include Associate Director of CMC Development for Gene Therapy at Amicus Therapeutics, where Boonchai led critical CMC initiatives for enzyme replacement therapies and gene therapy platforms. A career foundation includes roles at the Vaccine Production Program Lab at NIH and DuPont, where Boonchai significantly enhanced production processes. Boonchai holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S. in Biochemical/Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
