Laurel Paget-Seekins has a wealth of experience in transportation policy and advocacy. Currently, Laurel works as a Senior Policy Advocate for Transportation Justice at Public Advocates and also runs a consulting firm with expertise in transportation workforce planning and public sector data analysis. With a background in civil engineering and city planning, Laurel has held various roles in organizations such as the MBTA and the Open Society Foundations, where Laurel focused on transit equity and collaboration between agencies and communities. Laurel's extensive experience includes leading teams, developing policies, managing projects, and presenting to boards and the media. Laurel is also a published author and has contributed to research in the field of public transport.

Public Advocates Inc. is a nonprofit law firm and advocacy organization that challenges the systemic causes of poverty and racial discrimination by strengthening community voices in public policy and achieving tangible legal victories advancing education, housing and transit equity. We spur change through collaboration with grassroots groups representing low-income communities, people of color and immigrants, combined with strategic policy reform, media advocacy and litigation, “making rights real” across California since 1971.
