Amy Phillips

Amy Phillips has extensive experience as a legal professional, currently serving as a Staff Attorney in various divisions at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia since October 2013. Previous roles include positions in appellate, special litigation, and juvenile court divisions. Amy's legal foundation was further developed at Georgetown University Law Center, where a Juris Doctor degree was earned. Additional experience includes serving as a Student Attorney at the Georgetown Criminal Defense and Prisoner Advocacy Clinic and as a Law Clerk at multiple public defender offices. Early career positions include Program Director at George Mason University and Research Assistant at Freedom House, alongside leadership in youth court diversion programs. Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Politics from New York University.
