Areeba Jibril

Areeba Jibril is a Staff Attorney in the Appellate Division at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia since November 2023. Previous roles include Clinical Teaching Fellow and Supervising Attorney at UC Berkeley Law School's Samuelson Law, Technology, and Public Policy Clinic, and Fisher-Paradise Fellow at the ACLU of Massachusetts. Areeba has also worked as an Associate at Morrison & Foerster LLP and has held various legal internships, including at the Digital Rights Foundation and the Michigan Innocence Clinic. Areeba's experience encompasses legal research and advocacy in human rights, privacy, and constitutional law, with a strong background in fundraising and community engagement from earlier positions, including Event Coordinator for Abdul for Michigan. Areeba obtained a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Michigan.
