Talia Gilbert holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology from Emory University. Currently serving as a Supervisory Investigator at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia since July 2020, Talia previously worked as an Investigative Specialist in the same organization. Prior experience includes roles as an Analyst/Researcher for the Criminal Justice Project at the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Research Associate at HomeBase, Intake and Advocacy Intern at the Georgia Justice Project, and Project Manager for the Luuka District Water Pump Protection and Maintenance Project with the Foundation for Sustainable Development. Talia also completed a legal research and policy internship at HomeBase. Educational accomplishments include a study abroad program at the University of Cape Town focusing on Trauma and Memory in Transitional Justice. Talia graduated from The College Preparatory School in 2012.
