Tim Leunig

Tim Leunig serves as Chief Economist at Nesta and holds the position of Visiting Professor in Practice at the LSE School of Public Policy. As Director of Public First Economic and Strategy Consultancy, Tim Leunig contributes insights from extensive policy advisory roles across various government departments, including being a Senior Policy Adviser to Secretaries of State at the Department for Education, Department for Levelling Up, Homes and Communities, Defra, and the Department for Health and Social Care. Tim Leunig’s academic background includes over two decades as an Associate Professor in Economic History at The London School of Economics and Political Science, and a solid educational foundation from the University of Oxford with a PhD in Economics. Additionally, Tim Leunig served as an Economic Advisor to the Chancellor at HM Treasury.
