Shirley Canela

Shirley Canela is a dedicated professional with a diverse background in public health and community service. Currently serving as a Community Health Ambassador at Heluna Health since March 2021, Shirley previously held the role of Project Manager and Graphic Designer at SJSU Department of Public Health & Recreation, where significant contributions included the development of a comprehensive departmental brochure showcasing programs and student experiences. At San Jose State University, Shirley enhanced student engagement as a Peer Teaching Assistant in Health Communications and supported academic advising as a Student Assistant. Prior experience includes overseeing safety in an anatomy room at Shasta College, providing personal care to residents at The Vistas Assisted Living & Memory Care, and leading the yearbook publication at Central Valley High School. Shirley holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from San Jose State University and an Associate of Arts in Health Services from Shasta College.
