Michael Barry

​​Michael Barry is Director of Strategic Partnerships and Development at the Public Health Foundation (PHF). In this role, he focuses on strengthening and growing the TRAIN Learning Network and seizing other opportunities to grow PHF’s strategic alliances, initiatives, and revenue base.

Mr. Barry has over 30 years of experience in health-related, non-profit organizations, including 21 years in senior management positions. Most recently, Mr. Barry served as a consultant for the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and for the Population Health Alliance (PHA), and as PHA’s executive director in 2018. Prior to that, Mr. Barry had a successful 13-year tenure as the executive director of the American Colle​ge of Preventive Medicine (ACPM), the leading U.S.-based physician organization focused on practice, research, publication, and teaching of evidence-based preventive medicine. In 2018 he received ACPM’s prestigious Distinguished Service Award in recognition of outstanding contributions and service in the field of preventive medicine and for leadership in attaining the objectives of ACPM.

Prior to coming to ACPM in 1999, Mr. Barry worked at PHF for 14 years, beginning as a statistical assistant and advancing to Associate Director for Information and Health Policy. Mr. Barry earned in 2008 and maintains the Certified Association Executive designation. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Salisbury University.
