Alexandra Madigan has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Alexandra currently serves as the Deputy Director of Domestic Operations at the Public Health Institute since April 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Grant Writer at Nursing Beyond Borders from May 2020 to April 2022. Alexandra also held managerial positions at Marie Stopes International, including UK Operations Support Manager from 2016 to 2018 and UK Business Support Team Manager from 2013 to 2016. Alexandra has experience in project coordination and health education as the Health Education Project Coordinator at Universidad de Granada from 2012 to 2013. Alexandra also had an internship at Mental Health Systems in 2012, focusing on substance abuse treatment. Earlier in their career, they worked as an Event Organizer/Medical Volunteer at The Women's Conference with Maria Shriver and as a Reproductive Healthcare Assistant at Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest in 2010.

Alexandra Madigan earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Spanish Literature from California State University, Chico, graduating in 2008. Alexandra also participated in a study abroad program at Centro de lenguas modernas in Granada, Spain in 2007-2008. In 2010-2012, they attended California State University, Long Beach, where they obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a concentration in Community Health Education. Additionally, in 2005, they completed an intensive Spanish summer language program at Proyecto Lingüística Quetzalteco de Español in Xela, Guatemala.
