John Xiong

John Xiong is an experienced infection prevention specialist with a strong background in microbiology and public health. Currently serving as an Infection Preventionist at Public Health Madison and Dane County since August 2020, John oversees infection control efforts. Previously, John worked as an Infection Prevention Specialist at Froedtert South, focusing on monitoring and reporting hospital-acquired infections. John began a career in healthcare as a Microbiology Technologist at Wisconsin Diagnostic Laboratories, where complex microbiological testing was performed. Early professional experiences include a health intern position at the City of Milwaukee Health Department and a role as a Community Outreach Specialist at the Medical College of Wisconsin. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Public Health with a focus on Community and Behavioral Health Promotion from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
