Mark Lazar

Mark Lazar is the Director of Programmes at PUBLIC, a venture firm that helps tech startups transform the public sector. Mark joined PUBLIC in January 2017, less than three months after it was founded, to build the accelerator programme (GovStart) in the UK. GovStart has supported 30+ startups ranging from Pre-Seed to Series B, who have worked with public bodies across central government, local government, the health services and beyond.

Lazar previously served as Programme Manager at Barclays Accelerator Powered by Techstars from February 2014 to December 2016. In this role, they helped early-stage companies grow and scale by providing access to corporate resources, mentorship, and funding.

Lazar is a seasoned professional with a passion for helping startups succeed. Mark has a deep understanding of the startup ecosystem and what it takes to grow a business. Mark is an expert in accelerator programmes and has a proven track record of helping startups reach their full potential.

Mark Lazar studied International Relations MA at the University of Durham and achieved a Merit. Mark also studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics BA at the University of Durham and achieved an Upper Second Class Honours.

They are on a team with Andy Richardson - CTO, Johnny Hugill - Head of Research & Intelligence, and Hanna Johnson - COO. Mark Lazar reports to Daniel Korski, Co-Founder & CEO.
