Andrew Ayres

Andrew Ayres is an accomplished professional in the field of economics and environmental management, currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Nevada, Reno, since August 2023. Ayres has been a Research Fellow at the Public Policy Institute of California since November 2019, focusing on the economic analysis of water management and policy issues in California through applied econometric methods. Prior experience includes working as an Economist for the Ecosystems program at the Environmental Defense Fund, where research supported water and habitat management efforts. Ayres' academic background includes a PhD in Economics and Environmental Science from the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at UCSB and a BA in Economics with a minor in German from Pomona College. Additional research roles include positions at the Ecologic Institute in Berlin and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
