Katie Van Dorn

Persistent inquisitiveness guides Katie to consume as much knowledge as possible at home and at work. This curiosity, paired with a refusal to live in ignorance, means that every project she touches is relentlessly researched. Asking questions and conducting thorough examination ensures that clients can make the best decisions possible based on complete, accurate, and up‐to‐date information.

As a director on the health and human services team, Katie uses her natural curiosity to conduct key informant interviews, where she can engage in structured and in‐depth conversations with people in their areas of expertise. Katie conducts research and analysis on a variety of health and human services topics, including public and population health, behavioral health, health and dental insurance coverage, cancer survivorship, healthy aging, and child and adult vaccinations. She manages projects, designs and conducts program evaluations, writes research and evaluation reports, creates geographic data visualizations and analysis, facilitates strategic planning sessions and focus groups, conducts surveys and key informant interviews, and monitors state health policy.

Even before PSC, Katie was always focused on improving people’s health. She brings years of experience working with the Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties.
