Emma Verrecchia has a diverse work experience spanning over 16 years. Emma'smost recent role is as the Head Of User Experience at PubNub, starting in October 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Pearson for six years, starting as a User Experience Designer in March 2015 and progressing to Senior User Experience Designer and ultimately User Experience Manager. Before joining Pearson, Emma worked as a User Experience Designer at IBM Hursley Laboratories for three years, from September 2012 to February 2015. Emma also has experience in media technology and film crew roles at the University of Sussex from October 2011 to June 2012. Emma has worked as a freelance User Researcher conducting usability and user experience evaluations for various companies from 2010 to 2012. Emma also interned as an Extreme Blue Technical Intern at IBM in 2011 and worked as a Customer Representative at Nationwide Building Society from September 2008 to September 2010. Emma's early work experience includes roles as a Research Assistant at the University of Sussex from September 2008 to June 2010, a Waitress and Barmaid at The White Horse Hotel from October 2008 to September 2009, and a Kitchen Assistant at Blatchington House Nursing Home from April 2005 to February 2009.
Emma Verrecchia completed their Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction Design at the University of Sussex from 2009 to 2012. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained several certifications, including Professional Agile Leadership™ - Evidence-Based Management™ from Scrum.org in 2022, Accessibility: How to Design for All from the Interaction Design Foundation (IxDF) in 2020, and UX Management: Strategy and Tactics from The Interaction Design Foundation in 2019.
