Julie Harris

Julie Harris has a diverse work experience, primarily in the field of education and special education services. Their most recent position was as the Director of Student Services at Pulaski Community School District, where they started in July 2022. Prior to that, they co-founded and served as the Managing Director at Speaking About Autism LLC starting in April 2018. Julie also worked as an Adjunct Faculty member at Viterbo University from March 2012, and as the Director of Special Education & Pupil Services at the School District of Shorewood from July 2019 to July 2022. Before that, they held the role of Associate Director of Special Education at the Green Bay Area Public School District from July 2015 to June 2019. Julie began their educational journey in 1989 at Lake Superior State University, where they obtained an Associate Degree in Child Development in 1991. Following that, they attended Central Michigan University from 1991 to 1993, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation/Psychology.

Seeking further specialization, Julie enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Superior from 1993 to 1995, where they completed a Master of Science degree in Education with a concentration in School Psychology. During their time at the university, they also obtained certification as a School Psychologist.

Continuing their pursuit of knowledge, Julie attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 1996 to 1998, obtaining a Certification in Educational Administration with a focus on Director of Special Education/Pupil Services. Additionally, they acquired a Certification in School Counseling from Lakeland University in 2006.

Julie's educational journey is still ongoing. As of now, they are pursuing an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, which they began in 2021 and is expected to complete in 2023.
