Kathleen Sullivan is a trustee at Punahou School. Kathleen previously worked as a senior benefits consultant at Harvard University from April 1996 to October 2003. In their role as senior benefits consultant, they provided detailed consultation as part of a team that serviced 25,000 benefits-eligible faculty, staff, union members, retirees, and their dependents with regard to complex health and welfare issues; six pension plans; tax deferred annuity program (TDA); 457(b) deferred compensation plan; defined benefit pension calculations and retirement planning. Kathleen was also responsible for authoring death claims, survivor benefits, qualified domestic relations orders, and pension distributions, as well as delivering benefit presentations to new employees and individual departments as needed. In addition, they served as team lead on retiree database clean-up project for implementation of PeopleSoft HRIS system and trained three new staff in Benefits Analyst duties.
Prior to their role as senior benefits consultant, they worked as a benefits analyst from 1996-1997 where they were responsible for calculating defined pension plan benefits for staff and union employees including estimates and final retirement statements. Kathleen also analyzed and processed all pension plan contribution adjustments for three Faculty Retirement Plans and the Staff and Hourly Retirement Plan.
Kathleen Sullivan has a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is a nationally certified professional in human resources through the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). Kathleen is currently pursuing their PHR certification through SHRM.
