Nick Layton has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Beginning in 2001, they worked as a Cashier/Customer Service representative for Redwood Street Bento until 2006. From 2007 to 2008, they ran a self-managed cleaning service at SMS Auto Fabrics. In 2008, they enrolled as a student at Oregon State University, where they remained until 2012. During their time there, they gained experience as a Marketing Intern at Metal Innovations, Inc. in 2012. Following their graduation, they worked as a Sales/Manager at T.K. Orchards from 2013 to 2014. In 2014, they transitioned to a Marketing/Executive Assistant role at Pure Seed until 2015. From 2015 to 2016, they served as a Sales/Marketing Manager at HIGHRISE. Nick returned to Pure Seed in 2016 as a Marketing Manager before being promoted to Director of Marketing in September 2019.

Nick Layton graduated from Oregon State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree, double majoring in Marketing and Business Administration (BBA). Nick also earned minor degrees in Entrepreneurship and International Business. In 2012, they studied International Business at Chulalongkorn University, and in 2011, they pursued an International Business Option at Universidad de Murcia.
