Rob Lee

CTO at Pure Storage

Rob Lee is the CTO at Pure Storage. Rob was previously an architect at Oracle Coherence from October 2012 to November 2013, where they were responsible for innovation, development and maintenance of core data-services and networking features of Oracle Coherence. Rob also managed a team of engineers working on all areas of the core product, including: networking, clustering, messaging protocols, data distribution, failover/HA, request processing, and public APIs as well as cloud services development.

Lee has been personally responsible for designing, developing and delivering numerous features in all areas of the product, including pluggable data partitioning strategies, partitioned transaction support, cluster health monitoring "guardian" and "quorum" features, and numerous improvements and hardening of internal asynchronous messaging protocols and data structures to support large (500+ compute node) clusters.

Most recently, Lee has been focused on features centered around (even more) extreme density and durability. Rob was an instructor at Global Underwater Explorers from January 2009 to December 2017.

Rob Lee received a Master of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Their manager is Charlie Giancarlo, Chairman & CEO. Rob Lee works with Matt Kixmoeller - Strategic Advisor, Laura Spear - Chief of Staff & Chief Marketing Officer, and Arthur Johnson - Chief Strategy Officer.
