Derek Moretz

Derek Moretz has extensive experience in the renewable energy industry, with roles at various companies. Derek currently holds the position of VP of Development at PureSky Energy since 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Development at Recurrent Energy from 2021 to 2022. From 2012 to 2020, they were the Chief Development Officer at Encore Renewable Energy. Derek also worked as a Senior Development Manager at NaturEner USA & NaturEner Canada from 2008 to 2011. Earlier in their career, they held the position of Business Developer at Corporación Multi Inversiones from 2005 to 2006.

Derek Moretz completed an MBA in Finance and Technology Commercialization from NC State Poole College of Management from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, they obtained dual degrees, a B.S. in Sustainable Technology and a B.S. in Construction Management, from Appalachian State University from 2001 to 2004. Derek began their education journey in the Civil Engineering Program at North Carolina State University from 1998 to 2000.
