Aleksandra Filipovic MD, PhD, is head of oncology at PureTech. Previously, Dr. Filipovic served as associate medical director of Bristol Myers Squibb (New York) for early phase oncology and immuno-oncology clinical trials. She graduated from medical school at the Faculty of Medicine University of Nis, Serbia, and completed her PhD on the identification and validation of novel therapeutic targets in breast cancer and monoclonal antibody drug development at Imperial College in London, UK. Following this, she received a Fellowship from the College for the continuation of the translational research work and continued clinical practice in medical oncology. Dr. Filipovic is also a practicing clinician at Imperial College NHS trust, faculty member at European School of Oncology, scientific committee member of Sharing Progress in Cancer Care (SPCC), associate editor for Frontiers in Oncology, and a member of American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC).
