Katherine Smith

Katherine Smith is an experienced professional in the field of Deaf education and American Sign Language interpretation. Currently employed at Purple Communications, Inc. as an American Sign Language Interpreter since February 2020, Katherine has previously served as a Substitute Teacher at the California School for the Deaf from January 2015 to September 2017, a 1:1 Paraprofessional at the New Jersey School for the Deaf from January 2012 to June 2014, and a Classroom Paraprofessional at The Learning Center for the Deaf from September 2008 to June 2011. Katherine holds a Certificate of Deaf Studies and a Certificate of Interpreting, American Sign Language from Northeastern University, and dual Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in Fine and Studio Arts from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University.
