ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Automate operational activities and tasks.
  • Develop complex build/deployment systems including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Provide expertise to help developers/test engineers to execute software releases, configuration updates, and other release requirements.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call support and perform occasional after-hours support.
  • Maintain the health of cloud-based production environments through monitoring and typical daily administration duties.
  • Respond to performance issues identified by alerting and other reported incidents.
  • Utilize a variety of tools, techniques, and procedures to resolve problems.
  • Provide support to developers and testers.
  • Understand new, emerging technologies and implement them.
  • Evaluates business requirements to identify potential software, hardware, and system architectures to be employed to meet business objectives.
  • Performs research on emerging technologies to support proofs-of-concept (POCs) and identify future solutions for the organization.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 years of professional work experience.
  • 3 years in DevOps/Developer role experience.
  • Implemented and maintained CI/CD pipelines with industry-standard tools.
  • Cloud experience (Google/GCP, AWS, and IaC - Terraform.)
  • Experience with containers (Docker.)
  • Experience troubleshoot and monitor distributed systems in Development and Production environments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

  • Familiarity with project tracking software and writing wiki documentation (Jira, Confluence)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop solutions with scripting languages (JavaScript, PHP, Python, Shell scripting) and 1 high-level language (C, C++, Java, Golang)
  • Strong understanding of system and networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Fluency with DevOps concepts, e.g., deployment processes, microservices, serverless architectures
  • Familiarity with monitoring requirements and building dashboards.
  • Familiar with best practices for infrastructure security, reliability, and fault tolerance
  • Clear communication of complex concepts and troubleshooting steps is required
  • Knowledge of CDN’s, DNS, web servers, and other supporting Internet services
  • Extremely comfortable with Linux especially the ability to navigate CLI
  • Comfortable working with Git / Bitbucket
  • Technical Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Math, Science, etc.)
