Raghu Kiran Appasani, MD has a diverse work experience in the field of mental health and psychiatry. Raghu Kiran is the Founder and CEO of The MINDS Foundation, an organization dedicated to increasing mental health literacy and decreasing social stigma in India and the United States. Additionally, Dr. Appasani runs their own concierge private practice, Appasani MD PC, where they integrate evidence-based psychotherapeutic, pharmacological, metabolic, nutritional, and holistic practices to provide personalized mental well-being care. Raghu Kiran is also the Chief Medical Officer and Scientific Advisor at PYM, a role they have been active in since August 2020. Dr. Appasani serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and holds positions as a Staff Psychiatrist, Addiction Psychiatrist, and Psychedelic Research Psychiatrist at the University of California, San Francisco. Raghu Kiran Appasani, MD has a diverse education history. In 2008, they graduated from Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Neuroscience & Behavior/ Science In Society. Following this, they attended UMass Chan Medical School from 2014 to 2018 and obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.

In 2018, Dr. Appasani began their residency in the Psychiatry Residency Program at the University of Southern California, and they served as the Chief Resident from 2021 to 2022. During their residency, they pursued additional certifications, including becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in 2022, after successfully completing the required training from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. Raghu Kiran also completed the Clinical TMS Society Pulses Training in 2022, provided by the Clinical TMS Society.

Dr. Appasani further expanded their expertise by completing the MDMA Therapy Training in 2022, offered by the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). Raghu Kiran also obtained certifications in Good Clinical Practice and Human Subjects Protection Training from the CITI Program in 2022. Moreover, in the same year, they acquired the Healthcare Provider (BLS) Adult, Child and Infant CPR/AED certification from ProTrainings.

Looking ahead, Dr. Appasani is pursuing an Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco from 2022 to 2023, strengthening their knowledge and skills in treating addiction.
