Raghu Kiran Appasani, MD has a diverse work experience in the field of mental health and psychiatry. Raghu Kiran is the Founder and CEO of The MINDS Foundation, an organization dedicated to increasing mental health literacy and decreasing social stigma in India and the United States. In 2018, Dr. Appasani began their residency in the Psychiatry Residency Program at the University of Southern California, and they served as the Chief Resident from 2021 to 2022. During their residency, they pursued additional certifications, including becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in 2022, after successfully completing the required training from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. Raghu Kiran also completed the Clinical TMS Society Pulses Training in 2022, provided by the Clinical TMS Society.

Dr. Appasani further expanded their expertise by completing the MDMA Therapy Training in 2022, offered by the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). Raghu Kiran also obtained certifications in Good Clinical Practice and Human Subjects Protection Training from the CITI Program in 2022. Moreover, in the same year, they acquired the Healthcare Provider (BLS) Adult, Child and Infant CPR/AED certification from ProTrainings.

Looking ahead, Dr. Appasani is pursuing an Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco from 2022 to 2023, strengthening their knowledge and skills in treating addiction.
