Lucia Arjona

General Counsel at Pythian

As the General Counsel of Pythian, Lucia is responsible for leading and managing the in-house legal department, privacy program, procurement practice, and legal compliance program.

With more than 28 years of experience, Lucia started her career in Colombia, where she advised government officials and taught constitutional law. In Canada, Lucia’s focus within the tech industry began in 2009 at IBM in the legal department. In 2014, she joined Pythian as Legal Counsel. A privacy law expert, Lucia designed a strong privacy program that allows the company to remain compliant with multinational privacy legal frameworks.

Lucia also serves as the executive sponsor of Pythian’s Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Program. Lucia is a licensed lawyer in Ontario and Colombia and holds an LL.M from the University of Ottawa, a postgraduate specialization in International Studies from the Universidad de Chile, and a postgraduate specialization in criminal law. In addition, Lucia holds certifications as an international privacy professional for Canada and the EU from the IAPP.
