Renpeng Liu

Principal Scientist at Pyxis Oncology

Renpeng Liu has a strong background in scientific research and development, with a focus on protein and gene therapy analysis. They have worked in various roles at different companies, starting in 2011 as a Postdoctoral researcher at Emory University. At Emory University, they developed MS-based analysis techniques for glycans and glycoproteins. From 2013 to 2015, Renpeng Liu worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at New England Biolabs, where they developed LC-MS approaches for therapeutic protein characterization.

In 2015, they joined ImmunoGen, Inc. as a Scientist II, where they led protein characterization efforts and worked closely with other teams to support development and manufacturing investigations. They also acted as a technical expert in managing CMO and CRO relationships. In 2018, Renpeng Liu joined Biogen as a Scientist II, focusing on mass spectrometry and HPLC-based solutions for protein and gene therapy analysis. They acted as an analytical representative for R&D transition and late-stage programs.

In 2021, Renpeng Liu moved to Sarepta Therapeutics as a Senior Scientist, responsible for analytical development of AAV capsid proteins and RNA programs. They established methods for assessing viral capsid protein content and quality and developed impurity characterization methods to support viral vector production.

Currently, Renpeng Liu works at Pyxis Oncology as a Principal Scientist since 2022.

Rengpeng Liu completed their education in a chronological manner. Renpeng obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Wuhan University in 2002. Renpeng then pursued a Master of Science degree in Chemistry from The Ohio State University from 2002 to 2005. Finally, they completed their education by earning a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2005 to 2010. In addition to their academic qualifications, Liu obtained a certification in August 2013 for completing the "online basic training course for UNICORN" provided by GE Healthcare.
