Michael Andresen

Senior Scientist at Q-State Biosciences

Michael Andresen has extensive work experience in the field of human genetics. Michael'smost recent role was as a Senior Scientist at Q-State Biosciences, where they provided expert support for various projects and conducted bioinformatics and data analysis. Prior to that, they worked at Pairnomix as a Senior Scientist, assisting individuals with genetic disorders in accessing personalized medicine. Michael also analyzed patient cases from a human genetics perspective.

From 2009 to 2017, Michael worked at Bio-Techne as a Scientist, where they developed cellular assays and supervised a research associate. Prior to that, they had a variety of roles at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), including Consultant and Postdoctoral Research Associate. During this time, they identified genetic modifiers of age of onset in Huntington's disease and supervised technicians.

In addition, Michael worked as a Research Associate at the University of Minnesota, where they identified a kinase related to spinocerebellar ataxia type 1. Michael also worked as a Research Technician at MIT, assisting in the Human Genome Project and performing genetic linkage scans and sequencing of leukemia chromosomal break points.

Michael Andresen completed their education with a High School Diploma from Breck School in 1990. Michael then pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which they successfully obtained in 1994. Continuing their academic journey, Michael earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, concluding their studies in 2000.
